Family Information

In the vibrant coastal city of Accra, the closest inhabited land to the center of the earth, I spent my formative years under the watchful eyes of parents who had journeyed from Morso in Ghana’s Ashanti region. My childhood home buzzed with the energy of siblings, cousins, uncles and a large extended family.

My parents were proud Ashanti people with deep roots in Ghana’s cultural heartland who chose to settle in Accra for its opportunities. Father, a quantity surveyor, worked on the University of Ghana campus, and Mother, a psychiatric nurse, created a home where education and Christian values were highly cherished.

My wife, a chef and event organizer and our three children, now adults pursuing their own paths, represent a beautiful bridge between Ghanaian heritage and Irish opportunity.

Though the misty mornings of Dublin differ dramatically from Accra’s humid dawn, I’ve found unexpected parallels between these distant homes—both places value community and resilience.

When my family gathers around our Dublin dining table for jollof rice and Irish beef, I see the beautiful culmination of a journey that began generations ago in Morso, took root in Accra, and continues to flourish on Ireland’s welcoming shores.
